Job Summary

Act as a key player in making sure that the Bakery Team delights and wows our guests each day with presenting our cakes, cookies, and breads with a smile. Provide leadership, motivation, and expertise for all area of candy including Grocery, Produce, and Floral.

Job Description

  • Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Education Desired: Bachelors Degree - Retail Management, Business Administration or similar
  • Experience Required: 3 to 5 years; Retail Work Experience or Store Leader recommendation
  • Experience Desired: Solid understanding of bakery and Candy field; Knowledge of Market District customer service requirements
  • Lifting Requirements: Up to 50 pounds

Job Responsibilities:

  • Enable unparalleled guest service by leading the team by example, constantly striving to delight and surprise our guests, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Manage inventories by tracking weekly reports and ordering raw materials and supplies in order to meet customer requirements and maximize profits.
  • Create unique value-added candy confections. Including but not limited to chocolate/caramel dipped fruit, cotton candy, etc.
  • Direct Team Members by using work lists as well as understanding and performing all duties required of a clerk. This includes directing, overseeing, and evaluating all training of new and current Team Members.
  • Maintain safety as a top priority in all aspects of our work, for our Team Members, guests, and products while exceeding health and OSHA requirements.
  • Drive department performance by fostering superior guest service, and maintains operational excellence to exceed established budgeted sales, control inventory, and achieve productivity goals.
  • Comply and perform self-assessments to maintain necessary standards and pass all Steritech, internal, and external audits. Complete incident checklists as required.
  • Perform all functions of a Team Leader in his/her absence, when necessary and where appropriate. Desire to become a Team Leader.
  • Cultivate a foodie culture by sharing excitement and passion for food with Team Members and guests.
  • Understand and adhere to all relevant local, state, and federal laws/guidelines as well as company policies.
  • Responsible for reporting any incidents in violation of these guidelines.
  • Attend and conduct daily team huddles as directed by Team Leader.
  • Understand and adhere to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, if applicable.
