The Company A market leader in the construction and housing sector in the North West, are actively looking to recruit an experienced Health and Safety Advisor due to growth in the business As a leading contracting developer for the housing sector, they work in partnership with registered providers across the region to provide much needed affordable housing to their local residents They provide tailored solutions, resulting in a seamless service for their clients As a business, the contractor provides affordable new builds, with a great reputation for construction, this contractor can offer a permanent position for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor Their team is very important to the company and the success of the business and projects are determined by the work the team delivers on a daily basis The Role Reporting into the Health and Safety Manager, the primary responsibility is to ensure that there is a marked reduction in the occurrence of occupational hazards in his/her organization In assistance with the health and safety manager and other HSE officers, further detailed to review an organisation s health and safety system and compare its present state with best practices as benchmarked by health and safety regulations and practices in other organizations Assessing the possibility of hazards occurring during the production processes in the organization Implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Safety Improvement Programme Communicating the Safety Improvement Programme and ensuring that all functions of MSSL are aware of and understand their role within the program In conjunction with the Head of QHSE ensure the delivery of an excellent support service internally and with contractors, and external customers Defining, developing and publishing documentation in line with safety improvement programme to reflect best practice Maintaining and reporting all HSE statistics (including environmental impacts) weekly Maintaining hazard spotting, internal audit and accident reporting systems Maintaining up to date knowledge of HSE legislation and advising management and staff accordingly Engaging and liaising with occupational health surveillance monitoring within the site to ensure that the employees are not exposed to long term risk within the workplace and that the organisation is not exposed to liability Facilitating and leading accident investigations Analysing and improving existing risk assessment process including monitoring risk assessments, identifying, and completing to a satisfactory conclusion Education and experience NEBOSH general certificate Degree/Higher Education (Safety, Technical, Engineering discipline preferred) HS&E experience in a manufacturing environment is required Excellent knowledge of ISO 45001 & 14001 standards How to Apply?
