Job Title: IT Support Technician
Location: Raleigh, NC
Shift: Monday - Friday 1:00pm - 10:00pm
Purpose statement:
The Support Technician provides desktop, application, and general IT support on a global level for IDT employees as part of the Tier 1 support team which is the initial point of contact for all IT requests.
Essential Functions:
Route incoming incidents and service requests to the appropriate functional areas within IT in a timely manner
Install, troubleshoot and repair a variety of hardware and software platforms via phone, web and in-person channels
Configure and support company owned mobile devices for both on and off site users
Perform basic networking to local desktop computers and other network enabled devices
Support and maintain production printing devices including laser, thermal transfer and direct thermal technologies
Works to build an understanding of company process, structure, and business drivers in order to provide tailored support for dependent IT technologies.
Identify risks associated with technology decisions.
Work effectively as part of a team to achieve established outcomes
Provide a high quality customer services experience when interacting with users
Empower users via product and/or process training whenever possible
Help maintain the tracking and disposal of capitalized IT hardware
Configure and maintain A/V equipment for conference rooms and on/off site presentations
Contribute to IT projects by performing necessary tasks and updating management about progress.
Maintain high level overview of assigned service requests and projects and determine priorities based on inputs from all parties involved.
Actively contribute to improving communication with local customers and management as well as intercompany with other IDT locations.
Provide emergency support outside of normal working hours
Contribute to creating and maintaining departmental KPI's.
Maintains IT shop and office order/cleanliness, evaluates and maintains inventory and tools.
Complies with the requirements for an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 environment
Demonstrates and upholds behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values and delivers the Integrated DNA Technologies experience to customers and other business associates.
Coordinate with outside vendors for troubleshooting systems and repairing equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Licensure:
High School diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field preferred
CompTIA A+ certification preferred
ITIL Foundation Certification preferred
