In your role as a Logistics Support Specialist, you will directly support the Distribution Center which is responsible for the inventory, storage, issue, receipt, shipment and accountability of government property. The property is stored in a warehouse setting on Redstone Arsenal, AL.
What you'll do all day:
Performs logistics management support in a full range of property accountability functions IAW Army Regulations, policies and procedures.
Must have experience with the Logistics Modernizations Program (LMP), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution, Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW), Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) and Standard Army Management Information Systems (STAMIS).
Use of these systems are in support of efforts and activities associated with integrated supply chain management, maintenance and repair planning.
This support includes planning, coordinating, or evaluating the logistical actions required to support Rapid Deployment Operations and other specified missions.
Monitors organizational compliance with logistical regulations including creation of hand receipts, inventories, issues and other transactions using approved DOD, DA, AMC, AMCOM, and ALC Logistics Information Systems.
Assist the Government in correcting findings identified during Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP) inspections.
Provide supply support utilizing various systems to ensure bench stock, packaging/dunnage and other required material is maintained and available at the time of need.
Prepare, processes and submits shipping document IAW Policies, Procedures and SOPs.
Must possess comprehensive knowledge operating in DLA purchase contracts and systems with purchase experience related to commercial off the shelf (COTS) purchases and restrictions.
Familiar with shipping and receiving procedures for OCONUS and CONUS operations utilizing military as well as contract movement assets.
Must be trained and proficient in Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS) and possess knowledge and experience with CONUS and OCONUS shipments. Must be proficient in Federal Express (FED-EX), United Parcel Service (UPS) and U.S. Postal service operations for shipment.
Must be HAZMAT trained and possess in depth knowledge of Enterprise Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Management System (EESOH-MIS).
Support warehouse operations capable of operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as Reach trucks, forklifts, electric pallet jacks, packaging scales, pallet wrappers and other vehicles to aid in the receiving and shipment of equipment and supplies.
Collaborates and plans with appropriate personnel to coordinate and/or execute the full range of Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS) IAW DLAI 4145.4/AR 740.3/AFMAN 23-125(IP)/NAVSUPINST 4400.100A/MCO 4450.15A/ AR 740-3, ensuring equipment /materiel is properly packaged, preserved, stored and maintained in a constant state of readiness for rapid deployment.

Minimum requirements for this position:
High school diploma.
Secret security clearance.
4 years of experience working in logistics operations across multiple logistics disciplines.
