We are working with a world-leading manufacturer of fibre optic components to find them a Market Development Manager for the German Data Centre market. The role can be based in the UK or Germany (Frankfurt region). Whilst knowledge of fibre optics and/or data centres is a massive advantage, we are open to speaking to candidates with a proven background in technical sales, who are bilingual German and English. Key responsibilities include: Continuous and proactive research to keep ahead of Industry, Technology, Market and Competitor trends Define strategy for the assigned territory Identify and develop a Datacenter project pipeline in (url removed) (SFDC) sufficient to deliver the defined revenue target for territory in line with the company strategy. Work in collaboration with the Partner Account Manager (PAM) and Regional Account Development Manager (RADM) on identifying potential projects through the following means: o Working with Installation Contractor sales personnel o Working with Distribution partner sales personnel o Working with Datacenter specific Technical/Engineering Consultants in the territory o Working through all other aspects of the Datacenter Eco-System in the territory Identify, build relationships, and add value with key Datacenter End User decision makers in order to become a trusted advisor and gain strategic control Progress projects through the project sales cycle as defined in SFDC all the way through to completion Provide competitive input and collaborate effectively with DC Strategy Manager to ensure optimum balance between margin and project success Rapidly respond (exceeding customer expectations or SLA) to all daily enquiries related to the progression of the project sales cycle and request support from Solution Engineering (SE) where necessary We are looking for a highly organised and effective individual who will be a resilient, resourceful, and innovative person with an analytical mind.
