Perform a variety of duties to select and load parts on frames or to stage and load the frames and/or larger parts onto the overhead conveyor paint line.
Duties may include all or a portion of, but not limited to, the following:
1.) Pull specialized rack with released order for parts by day. Load rack with parts according to picture on back of order or special instructions. Must pin certain parts when specified to prevent them from coming off of the rack as they go through the dip tanks and conveyor line inclines. May be required to tape or apply other material to some part areas to prevent chemicals/paint from adhering.
2.) Must pair racks according to the day required, color and process to be applied to the parts when getting them ready to load onto the conveyor.
3.) Moves racks onto elevator by pushing the racks or using a hoist. Must load onto conveyor with hooks facing the correct direction so the racks do not fall off and must make sure the hooks are properly seated. Must launch the parts or rack (scan release to show they have entered the paint line system). If a rack is missing parts that are on the order, then the part must be zeroed out on the PC system.
4.) Unload the parts and/or racks and using the PC indicate that they are being moved to the next process (assembly line).
5.) Check for tagged parts that must be refinished in some manner due to paint runs or finish imperfections.
6.) May be requested to act as cell leader to report problems.
7.) Test the strip tank solution by performing a simple test to make sure the it is within specifications.
8.) Load basket with parts to be stripped. Wearing protective gear, hoist the basket and open the tank and lower the parts into the strip solution for the appropriate time. Remove parts and wash them.
9.) Load parts and heavily coated racks onto platform and pushed into the burn box.
1-. )Maintain accurate and organized records. Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties. Detect, repair and/or report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervision. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
