The Purchasing Manager manages all purchasing activities and establishes strategic purchasing processes and procedures.
Job Duties:
Develops and manages partnerships with supply partners.
Assists in contract negotiations for direct raw materials.
Manages a team of buyers.
Works closely with Planning team and Department heads to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and enable manufacturing facility to achieve 100% on-time delivery.
Drives quality improvement initiatives with the suppliers that are consistent with customer expectations.
Participates in the S&OP (Sales & Operational Planning) process and ensures alignment of raw material supply to support customer forecast.
Manages company's day-to-day purchasing activities and ensures the team is meeting its KPI's.
Evaluates and analyzes marketplace purchasing and cost trends to help identify forecasting demand, while minimizing material costs.
Collects and reports on Supply Chain KPI's weekly or as directed.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business is preferred. CPIM or ISM certification is desirable in lieu of Bachelor's Degree, or 5-10 years of progressive puchasing experience.
Experience in hiring, managing and mentoring a team of 3 Buyers.
Creative problem solver that can navigate and manage current supply chain challenges.
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
Seasoned in a fast-paced and growing manufacturing organization.
Job Requirements:
Must have a strong sense of urgency and excellent customer service skills.
Able to read, write and understand both verbal and written instructions in English.
Must be able to stand and move about the facility continuously for up to 8 hours.
Position requires lifting, pulling, pushing and/or moving materials or equipment of various weights by utilizing proper lifting techniques to avoid injury.
Must be a tactful team player able to work independently.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products
Understands and adheres to company policies and safety regulations
Maintains confidentiality
Requirements:
