The Research and Reporting Analyst is part of the Biomedical Research Informatics Center (BRIC) team and works independently or collaboratively to support the data and reporting needs of Nemours Biomedical Research through queries of the Data Warehouse and Research databases. The role must ensure that reports meet established standards, avoid replication, are distributed appropriately, and adhere to security and privacy (e.g., HIPAA) guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support the data/reporting needs of Nemours Biomedical Research which include but not limited to feasibility studies, patient recruitment, retrospective studies, grant/contract management, and research administration.
  • Communicate and consult with all levels of management and end-users to fulfill enterprise and departmental data extraction and reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with Nemours Enterprise Intelligence (NEI), Information Technology (IT) and Health Informatics (HI) personnel to ensure that BRIC work efforts and priorities are synchronized with related NEI, IT and HI initiatives. Recognize resource demands, especially critical staff resource demands, and negotiate for time commitments that optimize availability of staff across the continuum of Corporate Services personnel.
  • Serve as the research primary contact and subject matter expert during NEI system upgrades and process changes.
  • Ensure compliance with IRB protocols and established enterprise data privacy and security guidelines.
  • Performance Skills:

    1.Knowledge of Epic Clarity data model and EPIC suite of applications (e.g., Cosmos, inpatient and ambulatory services, emergency department (ED), billing,scheduling, registration, orders, etc.), Harmony (payroll, finance, materials management, research activity transactions, etc.), and various data sources within the Data Warehouse.

    2.Develop reports and dashboards using a variety of tools including Qlik, R, and Python

    3. Develop SQL queries using Aqua Data Studio, or other database query tools.

    4. Knowledge of hierarchical and relational database structures. Understand how data marts are built in order to collaborate on new data mart design with NEI.

    5. Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) which involves requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Must be able to prioritize and manage simultaneous projects using administrative tools.

    6. Health care industry experience, including health care operations, grant and research administration, statistical analysis, and financial reporting.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree required
    • 2 or more years of complex SQL development
    • Familiarity with medical coding (ICD10, LOINC, CPT4, etc.)
