Our client, a scientific company based in South Cambridge, is looking to recruit for a Sales Executive. This position will proactively drive our client s commercial activities and sales in the UK and selected states of the USA. The brand being promoted develops platforms for customers working in areas such as gene therapy, vaccine development, and drug delivery. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role requires close working with the sales, marketing and technical teams. The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of the drug development process and a proven track history of selling drug delivery / formulation related capital equipment into the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors within the territory. Responsibilities will include: Taking full ownership of the direct, targeted sales process in the UK together with selected USA states through the creation and enactment of a proactive, measurable sales plan. Coordinating with Internal Technical Sales Specialists and Marketing Team to deliver targeted lead generation activities to fulfil targets and objectives. Working together with Internal Technical Sales Specialists, Marketing Executives and Technical Application Scientists to enact a plan of events, workshops and customer visits within the defined territories to promote Particle Works and secure business. Together with Internal Technical Sales Specialists and Technical Application Scientists qualify leads and opportunities both in a technical and commercial manner ensuring that all are closed in the most timely and effective manner. Using experience to provide market, competitor and product feedback to management, marketing, and technical teams. Ensuring all sales leads and customer/prospect enquiries are followed up in a professional and timely manner. Through collaboration across the team ensure that multi-site and multi-national client opportunities and relationships are pursued and maintained through deliberate and planned account management activities. Weekly and monthly reporting of activity and status of leads and opportunities together with a monthly sales forecast. Responsibility for the accuracy of territory related data in Salesforce. Managing demonstration equipment and running product demonstrations. Managing and conducting customer training, workshops, and events as necessary. The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience: Experience in selling drug delivery/formulation related capital equipment into Pharmaceutical and Biotech companies is essential An undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedicine or related subject, is essential. Higher qualifications and/or experience of working with Lipid Nanoparticles would be an advantage Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is essential Experience with Salesforce is beneficial but not a requirement as full training will be provided Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi-task Excellent attention to detail Ability to work individually and as part of a team Demonstrable knowledge of the importance of excellent customer service, both internal and external, on commercial results Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications Professional telephone manner and excellent interpersonal skills Ability to conduct presentations in front of different types of audiences Knowledge of a European language could be useful but not a requirement
