For the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), GDIT provides enterprise IT services for their biometric identity management system (IDENT) and the Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) to store, match, share, and analyze biometric and biographic data in support of DHSs strategic mission. GDITs O&M services support break-fix of current OBIM functional capabilities, as well as security remediation activities and developmental engineering (such as prototyping new code or configurations of OBIM functionality). GDIT is looking for a CMDB Administrator to provide administration and configuration support in configuring, updating, and maintaining the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and associated processes. The ideal candidate must be experienced at maintaining enterprise hardware and software configuration items (CIs), ensuring data integrity, and tracking assets within a ServiceNow CMDB. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Identifying and selecting sources of configuration management data from across the enterprise
Identifying relationships of the configuration items and aligning them to the service portfolio and catalog
Creating asset deliverables including Physical and Functional Audit and CI Reports
Collaborating with other team members in developing and improving asset management processes and workflows within the ServiceNow tool
Remediating issues with CMDB data quality and service mapping
Providing support with technical documentation.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship
DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability
BA/BS (or equivalent experience) and 5+ years of experience
Expertise using ITSM tool modules: Asset, Incident, Knowledge, Change
Knowledge of CMDB best practices as part of a large Operations and Maintenance team to meet business and IT requirements
Demonstrated knowledge of IT infrastructure to identify the relationships between configuration items
Experience with Change Management review for possible changes to the environment, to include asset counts (addition or decommission), software version changes, and dependencies
Experience in applying continuous improvement approach in enhancing the strategies for tracking assets within the Asset Module, throughout their lifecycle
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills.
Desired Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in computer engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field of study
Experience working with ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
Experience with dependency mapping of upstream and downstream services by mapping the CI descriptors to meet the service type
Experience supporting Federal Government IT programs
Experience performing quality analysis and control on the data within a CMDB
Experience with ServiceNow Discovery Probes
Experience working remotely
Certification in ITIL
