Job Title:         Tour Guide                                                     

Job Type:        Part Time /Non-Exempt

Hourly Rate:   $18 + tips

Location:         Brew Pub - 91 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801

Schedule:        Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 1:00-7 :30pm

Summary:  

Brewery tours are a must in our industry, and we've found ourselves with an opening in our tours team that you might be perfect for! You'd be starting off Part-Time with a set schedule, if you have interest in being more involved in the future, there is a possibility for growth as we potentially expand our tour program and our employee beer education program. You'd be at our original Brew Pub location in downtown Asheville guiding guests on tours of its brewing facility and facilitating tastings! Sound like your kind of gig so far? If so, read on! Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learning the history of Wicked Weed Brewing, the brewing process, and the culture of the brand. Conveying this information to people with all levels of beer knowledge is a must.
  • Leading groups of 10 people on a 30-minute tour of our original brewery at most 5 times per shift depending on the volume that day.
  • Provide a 15-minute guided tasting of 3 beers.
  • Set up and take down of tour station daily.
  • Have daily access to our tour reservation calendar and email.
  • Follow OSHA Safety regulations yourself and make sure all tour customers are compliant as well while in the brewery.
  • Completing computer-based work, as required to fulfill job or department duties.
  • Basic computer skills including using the internet and using MS Office software.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of craft beer and brewing process.
  • Ability to retain information received during training.
  • Cicerone Certified Beer Server (level one).
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Well-spoken and articulate in front of a crowd.
  • Ability to guide tour groups through a brewhouse space, ensuring guests don't touch equipment or move into a space without being directed to do so.
  • High-energy and enthusiastic!
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Knowledge in retail sales is a plus.
  • 21+ years old.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Customer Service experience a must
  • 2 to 3 years of tour experience a plus

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to frequently sit, stoop, kneel, crouch.
  • Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell.
  • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Job requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping and light lifting. Walking surfaces may be wet and/or slippery.
